Assalamu Alaikum,

My given name is Samuel Pierre, but when I became a Muslim I adopted the name Muhammad Sameel ‘Abd al-Haqq. I use that name as a “pseudonym” for all of my writings now. I have been an avid follower and reader of your works defending an explaining Islam. I am currently working on a degree a Master’s degree in Anthropology, with a special Interest in Anthropology of Religion. I will eventually parlay this into an expertise in Anthropology of Islam, insha’Allah.

Anthropology of Islam has historically been a study of Islam in the West that has been dominated by Orientalists and Christian Missionaries. Anthropology of Islam concurrently grew out of this tradition with the disciplines of ethnography and ethnology. With the advent of neo-Orientalism fueling a growing Islamophobia in the West, Muslims have have begun to be deeply involved in this academic field.

As one of these future Muslim anthropologists dedicated to educating a new class of 'ulama who are trained both in this field and traditional Islamic sciences, I would appreciate it if you could read my some of my work and comment on my blogs. Also, my main reason for contacting you is because I am also looking for writing contributions and mentorship from reputable Islamic scholars.
